The 'remarkable' reveal that explains why Thomas Frank has yet to be sacked by Tottenham

Tottenham have been dreadful under Thomas Frank in the Premier League this season.

The Dane has struggled to bring in results, which has left the Lilywhites languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Frank's Tottenham future is under immense threat, but many fans would have been calling for him to be replaced weeks ago.

Now, a new stat may show why ENIC have refused to pull the trigger on sacking their manager, despite the awful form.

Why Thomas Frank likely still has Tottenham job

Frank could be considered lucky to remain in charge at Tottenham. Since taking over, he has led the club to more losses than wins in the Premier League.

The Lilywhites have lost 10 games in the league so far, while only winning seven. At present, they sit just six points above the relegation zone and could be dragged into the fight to stay up.

Signs certainly point to a head coach who is not working out at the club.

However, Spurs' form in Europe could explain how Frank has been given time at N17.

As stated by The Athletic's Colin Millar via X, Tottenham have won more games in European competition (12 wins from 21 games) than they have in the Premier League (11 wins from 47 games) since 16 December, 2024.

A feat described as "remarkable".

While almost half of that has been under Ange Postecoglou, it does show that Frank knows how to win in the Champions League.

Indeed, Spurs have won almost as many games in Europe this season as they have domestically, despite playing just eight times on the continent.

The idea of reaching another final in the European Cup could be on the minds of the owners, as changing the manager mid-season could backfire on that front.

Tottenham's performance vs Manchester United was devoid of creativity

There does have to be some sympathy for Frank against Manchester United, as Cristian Romero's reckless red card early on left Spurs with it all to do.

Although Stuart Pearce felt Romero should not have been sent off.

However, time and time again we have seen sides that have gone down to 10 men battle it out on the pitch and still come away with at least a performance to be proud of.

Tottenham against Manchester United was anything but that.

Spurs created barely any chances, ending the game with just one shot on target. Additionally, they created just 0.49xG.

Frank's side were also second best in their duels. They won just 49 per cent of their ground duels and fell way short in the air with 33 per cent success in aerial duels, as per Sofascore.

It's a performance that fans, players and the manager will be hoping to forget as quickly as possible.
