Arsenal fan Piers Morgan didn't wait around to fire shots at Tottenham Hotspur after it was announced that Ange Postecoglou has been sacked.

Spurs announced on Friday (6 June) that "following a review of performances and after significant reflection", a decision has been made to part ways with the 59-year-old Aussie.

Postecoglou won the Europa League title with Tottenham this season, but a dire Premier League campaign has proven too bitter a pill to swallow.

The silence has been deafening since Spurs ended their worst-ever Premier League campaign with a defeat to Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But despite the rotten domestic performances, Postecoglou's Tottenham shone in Europe and a Europa League victory meant that the former Celtic manager followed up on his promise to win silverware in his second season.

Spurs' lack of trophies in recent years has always been a point to mock them on, and television host Morgan was quick to bring it up when Postecoglou's sack was reported by Sky Sports.

"Inevitable," he said

"Can’t have a Spurs manager who actually wins European trophies."

Who will be the next Tottenham Hotspur manager?

Spurs fans are still processing the news that their most successful manager of the 21st Century has been so brutally sacked.

However, for a lot of people, focus will now turn on who will be replacing Postecoglou in North London.

Marco Silva, Michael Carrick, Oliver Glasner and Carlos Corberan are also in the running, according to the latest bookmakers' odds.

Frank, 51, seems like he could be the best shout, though.

The Dane has spent seven years at Brentford, transforming them from a Championship side to one that's established in the Premier League.

He's helped develop the likes of Bryan Mbuemo, Yoane Wissa, Mathias Jensen and Kevin Schade into players that were relatively unknown in English football to some of the most exciting-to-watch players in the Premier League.

Spurs have lacked that kind of approach in recent years and Frank should be the top target to move into the future without Postecoglou.
