Thomas Frank will be hoping to get off on the right foot when Tottenham take on Burnley in the opening game of the season.

Mohammed Kudus' super Spurs debut against Paris Saint-Germain went to waste when his side were defeated on penalties in the UEFA Super Cup final in Udine.

While a heavy hit to take, Frank will be looking to bounce back in the Premier League. After finishing 17th under Ange Postecoglou last season, the Lilywhites will be aiming for a top-five finish this time around.

Tottenham vs Burnley will be played on Saturday afternoon

The Premier League season commences when Liverpool takes on Bournemouth on Friday night. As such, fans will have to wait until the second day to see Frank back in action.

Tottenham recently signed midfield "beast" Joao Palhinha on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich.

It is also hoped that Spurs' signing of Kudus will give Spurs the necessary muscle to compete for the top spot.

  • Tottenham will be without Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison for the opening game of the season
  • Maddison is expected to be sidelined for months after sustaining an ACL injury. Meanwhile, Kulusevski is still recovering from an injury sustained last season

However, Tottenham still plan to add two more additions to this talented squad. Indeed, the Lilywhites have returned to the charge for Eberechi Eze.
