Tottenham supporters have called for Ange Postecoglou's head after their first-half performance in the Premier League against Newcastle.

A depleted Spurs side headed into the dressing room 2-1 down at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday 4 January.

Despite Dominic Solanke giving Tottenham an early lead, the Magpies equalised through Anthony Gordon just minutes later, although the goal did arrive in contentious circumstances, with a statement being released about the goal [via PLMatchCentre on X, 4 January].

Alexander Isak completed the first-half comeback for the visitors, with supporters less than impressed at half-time.

Tottenham supporters call for Ange Postecoglou to be sacked

Despite the number of injuries and players unavailable due to illness, which led to calls for the match with Newcastle to be forfeited, fans had little sympathy for Postecoglou at the break.

Multiple fans called for the Australian to be sacked, while one supporter went a step further and called the Spurs boss "a clown".

Postecoglou will no doubt argue that he is dealing with an unprecedented number of injuries at Tottenham, and he is right. However, unfortunately, when you're managing a top level Premier league team, fans will not continue to accept excuses.

Therefore, if the 59-year-old doesn't show any signs of improvement, it wouldn't be a surprise if he was relieved of his duties imminently.
