Destiny Udogie struggled on his return to action for Tottenham against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Monday (19 August).

Ange Postecoglou's side got their Premier League season started with a 1-1 draw in the Midlands.

It was Pedro Porro who gave Spurs the lead after heading home James Maddison's cross midway through the first half.

However, despite their continued dominance, the visitors weren't able to add to their opening goal and Jamie Vardy capitalised, bringing Leicester City level 12 minutes after the restart.

And after watching Udogie's performance from the sidelines, Postecoglou might be considering making a change when Everton visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (24 August).

Udogie missed the final part of the 2023/24 Premier League season due to injury.

As a result, his pre-season preparations were disrupted, with the left-back managing just 45 minutes of football ahead of the brand-new campaign getting underway.

And he certainly looked a player short of match fitness against the Foxes.

As per Sofascore, while Udogie did manage four tackles, one clearance and one blocked shot, he was also dribbled past once and won just five of his 13 ground duels.

In addition, he lost his one aerial duel and gave possession away 13 times while making four fouls.

He also completed zero per cent of his crosses into the box and zero per cent of his dribbles to cap off what was a rather underwhelming performance.

Supporters will no doubt be confident of Udogie getting back to his best. However, it might take some time for the Italy international to rediscover his best form.
