Bryan King was left shocked after Tottenham ace Pedro Porro was left out of the Spain squad.

The ex-Spurs scout couldn't believe that the defender had not been selected to compete at the 2024 UEFA European Championship.

Spain boss Luis de la Fuente announced his provisional squad for the tournament in Germany on Monday (via BBC Sport, 27 May).

And King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - was left baffled by the decision to omit Porro.

“They must have a very good right-back in the team,” King said.

“That is very strange, especially when you see some of the players who will be at the Euros.

“Porro is a player who has played regularly and impressed, so they must have some very good options on his side of the pitch.”

Tottenham star Pedro Porro must prove Spain boss Luis de la Fuente wrong

For Porro to not even make the provisional squad is truly incredible.

He was arguably one of the Premier League's best right-backs last season.

Porro will be wondering what more he needs to do to prove himself as an international player.
