Tottenham's spending in this transfer window could hit club record levels, with several more deals targeted before the deadline.

Tottenham were also interested in Manchester City star Savinho, but a deal now appears to be off. Nevertheless, there could be more significant arrivals in the final weeks of the window.

This level of spending was unprecedented under Daniel Levy, but it now appears that Tottenham are benefiting from outside investment to facilitate these deals.

Levy spotted with Vivienne Lewis

Levy is the Executive Chairman of Tottenham, as a minority shareholder of ENIC, who is majority owned by Joe Lewis and his family trust.

While Lewis is rarely seen around Spurs nowadays, his daughter Vivienne is now taking a more active role, and this could lead to extra investment from ENIC.

The Telegraph have reported that Vivienne Lewis was spotted with Levy, as she sat next to the Chairman in Tottenham's opening day victory over Burnley.

  • ENIC own 86.58 per cent of Tottenham's shares.
  • Of these shares, Levy owns 29.88 per cent.
  • The Lewis family trust, which now appears to be headed by Vivienne, owns 70.12 per cent.

This has been described as "significant," and it could point towards extra investment from the Lewis Family Trust and ENIC into the team.

Tottenham benefiting from extra investment

Extra investment into the team has been long overdue, but Spurs could now reap the rewards under Thomas Frank this season.

Tottenham have also recruited Joao Palhinha, while captain Cristian Romero has signed a new contract, and there are promising signs over the squad building which could take shape by the end of the window.

If Vivienne Lewis is to take a more hands-on role than her father did, it could mean there is more ambitious investment into the club, but while Levy is in charge, Spurs fans will remain sceptical until more signings are through the door.
