John Wenham has pointed to Manchester United as a successful example as Tottenham continue to grow the club's brand globally.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes any new partnerships will only boost revenues in North London.

It comes after Tottenham recently announced via their official website (13 November) "a two-year partnership with Dashing, Malaysia's leading male perfume and deodorant brand for over 25 years."

And while he has speculated there could be some backlash to this announcement, Wenham - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - still believes deals like this are important for the North London club.

“These partnerships are obviously a good thing for the club,” Wenham said.

“It improves the global standing of Tottenham and boosts revenues. Some people will be fed up with these partnerships and poke fun at them. However, they’re important in growing the club’s name.

“Look at how well Manchester United have grown their brand. Tottenham are now starting to do the same thing, announcing partnerships for all sorts of things you would never think to associate a football club with.”

Daniel Levy continues to find brand-new revenue streams at Tottenham

Manchester United are one of, if not the most, commercially successful football clubs in the world. Therefore, if Spurs are being compared with the Red Devils, they are obviously doing something right.

It might seem odd to supporters that the club have partnered with a Malaysian perfume company. However, as long as it is getting the Tottenham name out there, it can't really be a bad thing.
