Ange Postecoglou was subject to a brutal chant from the Ibrox crowd as Tottenham went behind against Rangers on Thursday.

Postecoglou arrived in Glasgow for a UEFA Europa League clash with the Gers on 12 December with great pressure on his shoulders, with Daniel Levy expected to make a sack decision in the coming days.

Therefore, he would have wanted his side to make a fast start. However, Spurs struggled in the first 45 minutes, with Timo Werner axed at halftime after his poor showing in the first half.

And things got much worse just after the break, as Hamza Igamane gave the Gers the lead in the 47th minute. Shortly after that goal went in, Rangers fans could be heard chanting 'You're getting sacked in the morning' in the direction of Postecoglou [Andy Burke via BBC Sport, 12 December, 9:11 pm].

Ange Postecoglou in trouble at Tottenham?

Tottenham did not play like a team whose manager is fighting to prove his worth. Instead, they were second-rate against Rangers, with most of Spurs' high-profile players bested by their Rangers counterparts.

And Igamane's goal just after halftime highlighted one of many Tottenham weaknesses at the moment, their defensive woes. It is now just one clean sheet in their last ten matches.

As a result, Postecoglou will no doubt be sweating over his long-term future in North London, with the 59-year-old expected to need something "remarkable" to turn things around and save his job.

Luckily for the Australian, Dejan Kulusevski equalised with time to go at Ibrox. However, that goal doesn't paper over the cracks of what was a very poor display.

Therefore, if Postecoglou doesn't start producing more consistent performances in North London, the chants from the Rangers faithful could soon come true.
