Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg feels "betrayed" by the club and is open to leaving, according to CalcioMercato.

The Italian news outlet reported online on 1 October that the Denmark international is "open to new professional challenges," which is linked to his recent decision to change agents.

Hojbjerg is "very disappointed" after playing just 80 minutes in the Premier League this season, with all of his appearances coming from the bench.

Tottenham

Spurs' position has not changed, they still consider the 28-year-old to be worth around £34million and are not willing to send him out on loan at this moment in time.

Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King told Tottenham News:

"We are only eight games into the season, things can change. He has been involved in the games, he has been brought on. Okay, he hasn't started but he is well paid for being a squad member at Tottenham, get on with the job and get yourself back into contention if you're not being picked.

"All this moaning about not playing and wanting to get away, Tottenham have been very good to him. They have given him his chances and they have stood by him. Managers change and players' attitudes change but as soon as he is left out for a few games, he wants to leave.

Tottenham Hotspur

"He is playing with a top club, he is playing with top players every day of the week. If he feels that he is not getting enough play time, cheerio because I am not going to listen to his whining. If I upset him, then hard luck."
