Callum Olusesi recently demonstrated that he is ready to step up and potentially save Ange Postecoglou from the sack at Tottenham.

This is despite Spurs' 3-1 Premier League win over Southampton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (6 April).

After the scenes against the Saints, it has been suggested that Postecoglou has lost the Tottenham dressing room. As a result, some senior players might no longer be committed to playing for the Australian.

Therefore, Postecoglou could look to freshen things up by bringing in a Spurs academy hopeful, and Olusesi has demonstrated why he should be the player to make that step up.

Olusesi shines in action for Tottenham Under-21s

Olusesi is one of Spurs' most talented young players. The 18-year-old recently put pen to paper on a new four-year contract with Tottenham, despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Spurs are believed to have offered Olusesi incentives to keep him in North London. Therefore, this demonstrates how highly rated the young midfielder is behind the scenes.

Olusesi has already made his first-team debut for Tottenham, stepping off the bench in the 3-2 UEFA Europa League win over TSG 1899 Hoffenheim at the PreZero Arena on Thursday, 23 January.

Sidelined with an injury not long after this, Olusesi recently made his return to action as Spurs' Under-21s edged out Sunderland's Under-21s in a 3-2 Premier League 2 thriller at the Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground on Monday (7 April).

And the England youth international marked his return with a goal to kick off the scoring for Spurs.

Olusesi ready for first-team football at Tottenham

At the age of 18, Olusesi has stepped up and captained the Under-21s this season.

And with five goals in 10 games from midfield, the youngster has demonstrated he is ready to move onto the first-team. Therefore, Postecoglou could call on Olusesi to hopefully inspire a turnaround, which saves him from the sack.
