Postecoglou likely to leave Tottenham

Tottenham still have a chance to end this season on a high by winning the UEFA Europa League, with the first leg of the Lilywhites' semi-final against Bodø/Glimt to come at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (1 May).

However, even if Spurs end their 17-year trophy drought, Postecoglou is still expected to leave Tottenham.

Therefore, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - believes Maddison will hold talks with Postecoglou's replacement before a decision his made on his future.

"Something isn't right with Maddison," King said.

"His performances have been so inconsistent. However, I can't see Postecoglou remaining at Spurs. Therefore, it will be up to the new manager to decide what happens with Maddison.

"This is a player who has still got three years on his contract. Therefore, Spurs are in no rush to make any decisions. As a result, I imagine one of the first things any new manager will do is hold talks with Maddison.

"However, I think there are plenty of players who should be moved on by Spurs before Maddison."

Maddison could thrive under a new manager

If reports of Maddison falling out with Postecoglou are true, it is no surprise that the 27-year-old hasn't been at his best this season.

However, the former Leicester City man certainly possesses a lot of quality. Therefore, should Postecoglou move on, Tottenham should keep hold of Maddison to see what he can do under a different manager in North London.
