Lucas Bergvall has continued to wow Tottenham supporters with his early-season performances.

The 19-year-old enjoyed a remarkable debut campaign in North London and benefited from significant playing time under Ange Postecoglou.

This season has carried on in the same manner under new management, with Joao Palninha stunned that Bergvall is just a teenager.

Indeed, Bergvall could be the solution to an apparent issue that has emerged at Hotspur Way.

This article includes exclusive comments from Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham.

Lucas Bergvall becoming an integral part of Thomas Frank's team

Bergvall bagged his first Premier League goal against West Ham and is already improving on last season's exploits.

Despite his performances, there has been talk that Tottenham are missing a special ingredient within their midfield.

However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - believes that the teenager is the answer.

“We've heard a lot in recent weeks about the lack of a progressive midfielder at Tottenham, but for me, Bergvall can do that and does do that,” Wenham said.

“In terms of the energy he brings to the team and the opportunities he opens up for others. So I think he's slowly establishing himself as one of the first names on the team sheet, which is just amazing for a 19-year-old up until the year before he was playing in the Swedish division.”

How Lucas Bergvall could become the main man at Tottenham

There was talk that Spurs value Bergvall at around £50million in the summer amid reported interest from big clubs.

However, that figure will only skyrocket if the Swede continues to develop at a rapid pace in North London.

Bergvall has shown many sides to his game, highlighting that he could play as a number eight or even as a number 10 in an advanced role.

The 19-year-old is now benefiting from regular starts and looks comfortable within Frank's midfield.

If there was one criticism of the Sweden international, then it would arguably be his finishing, but he is now adding numbers to his game.

  • The teenager has a goal and an assist in the Premier League this season
  • He has an assist in the Champions League
  • Bergvall has two goals and six assists in 52 Tottenham appearances

His work rate and resilience are there for all to see, and there is every chance that he could be a future captain for the Lilywhites.

With a long-term contract in place, Bergvall has what it takes to achieve legend status at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
