Ange Postecoglou will be fighting for his life at Tottenham when his side travels to face Everton in the Premier League.

Spurs squandered a one-goal lead in the North London derby (15 January) as a Dominic Solanke own goal, followed four minutes later by a Leandro Trossard strike, cancelled out Son Heung-mins' opener at the Emirates.

While Postecoglou has every right to be furious after referee Simon Hooper wrongly awarded a corner that led to the equaliser, the Australian must leave Merseyside with three points in the bag to save his future in North London.

Preview

Although all the heat remains firmly directed at Postecoglou, the players deserve to take the brunt of the slack for another "toothless" performance in the Premier League.

Spurs found themselves in a win-win situation at the Emirates while 1-0 to the good - they were about to end a torrid winless run in the league while denting the title hopes of their North London rivals.

Yes, the corner should not have been awarded, but that doesn't take away from the fact that senior stars such as Pedro Porro struggled to get out of the gates in the derby.

However, Spurs marched to a resounding 4-0 win in the reverse fixture against Everton earlier this season, and despite David Moyes now being at the helm, they will be confident of a repeat performance at Goodison Park.

The Blues proved they will continue to be a defensively sound outfit after the managerial change. They may have lost 1-0 against Aston Villa via Ollie Watkins, but chances for the visitors were very few and far between.

Tottenham will have to be at their attacking best to thwart a formidable home defence and, more importantly, avoid a repeat of what happened at the Emirates.

Where to watch?

Prediction: Everton 0-2 Tottenham

Spurs are one of the most inconsistent sides in the Premier League this year, but Postecoglou has a knack for pulling a result out of his back pocket when needed most.

Everton are the second-lowest goalscorers in the division, and it will take more than a new manager bounce to overturn their fortunes in front of goal.

Tottenham have more than enough firepower to breach the Blues backline, and while the match promises to be a nervy encounter, Postecoglou should return to North London with a monumental victory.
