Tottenham have made inquiries for Barcelona attacking midfielder Dani Olmo for a January transfer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The news outlet reports (31 December) that the 26-year-old could leave the Blaugrana for free in the winter window after issues registering him.

Spurs are attentive to the Spaniard's situation at the La Liga giants and have made contact.

As for Olmo, he's not interested in listening to any offers and intends to fulfil his contract with Hansi Flick's team.

Tottenham to seal huge Dani Olmo transfer?

While it seems unlikely that Olmo will leave Barcelona at this point, the North Londoners could pull off a massive coup with his signature.

The Spain international has developed into one of the best players in Europe, scoring five goals in 11 league matches this season.

Flick has relied on the former RB Leipzig attacker in his starting lineup, and the 26-year-old hasn't disappointed.

Tottenham have the likes of James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, who are playing in a more advanced midfield role in the current campaign.

Ange Postecoglou's experiment with the Swedish forward has worked wonders this term, although Maddison has struggled to find his feet.

The Australian manager seems reluctant to play the England international for the full 90 minutes in fixtures, and it looks like he isn't trusted.

With the former Celtic head coach under pressure at Spurs after some poor results in recent weeks, Olmo could add much-needed quality to his ranks.

It remains to be seen how the 26-year-old's situation at Barcelona unfolds.
