Tottenham have a star in the making in the form of 19-year-old midfielder George Abbott.

Ange Postecoglou is spoilt for choice when it comes to talented young players in North London.

The likes of Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear have both stayed put with the club and could make a serious impact at first-team level this year. Meanwhile, Spurs have several talented youngsters out on loan.

Jamie Donley, Ashley Phillips and Abbott are just some of Spurs' exciting young players playing their football elsewhere this season.

And after the footage that emerged of Abbott recently, Postecoglou is bound to be delighted for last season's Tottenham Under-21 captain.

And it didn't take long for the England youth international to make his debut.

Despite having only arrived a couple of days prior, the midfielder was handed his first minutes for the club in a 2-1 victory away at Swindon Town on Saturday (31 August).

He was brought off the bench in the 82nd minute, with the 19-year-old looking comfortable, completing 80 per cent of his passes, with one of those key, winning 100 per cent of his ground duels and making one interception and one tackle (Sofascore).

Following the full-time whistle, footage posted to Notts County's official X account (31 August) showed Abbott leading the celebrations among the travelling supporters.

It therefore seems as though the Spurs gem has settled in quickly to life at County, and has already established a relationship with the supporters and his teammates.

That can only be a good thing, and Postecoglou will be hopeful that this means Abbott will be playing a lot of first-team football in Nottinghamshire, ahead of his return to North London next season.
