Tottenham attacker Richarlison is highly unlikely to return from a calf injury before the international break, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims the worst case is that he's out with a high grade calf setback although this seems to be a mid grade one.

Discussing the state of play with Richarlison exclusively with Tottenham NewsDr Brara doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: "The worst case here would probably be a high grade calf muscle injury but this seems a mid grade one due to the recurrent nature of those injuries.

"In terms of his recovery, his previous injury history may play a part if the injury is in related areas and those layoffs have impacted his fitness – that can lead to a longer runway to get back to training and matches.

"Highly unlikely he returns before the international break."

Richarlison has struggled to build momentum for Tottenham

The Brazil international was signed for big money but has failed to stay fit and build momentum for a considerable period of time.

He has shown glimpses of his brilliance under Ange Postecoglou but has faced many issues with his fitness.

Hopefully, he uses the international break to get as much of individual training as he can with the physios so he can challenge for a first-team return in the third week of October.
