Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Brennan Johnson will not be available when Tottenham host Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday 30 September, as reported by Sky Sports News.

The broadcaster published quotes from Postecoglou's pre-match press conference in their live online blog (29 September, 13:24 pm), with the Australian ruling the forward out of contention.

"From last week, Brennan [Johnson] will miss out. It's nothing too serious but he won't be right for the weekend."

Johnson was forced off injured during the second half of Spurs' 2-2 draw in the North London derby against Arsenal last weekend.

Ex-Spurs Scout Bryan King tells Tottenham News:

"I think you have got Manor Solomon who could be a ready replacement, or Postecoglou might change things around a bit and play Dejan Kulusevski on the left.

"I think even though it is nothing too serious, it is the right decision not to play him because there would be a chance you would need to bring him off. If he was going to play, I wouldn't want to see him coming off.

"Usually they will tell the player if you're fit, then you're fit, however, if you're a doubt and you decide to play then don't be asking to come off after 25 minutes. I think Postecoglou is pretty straight with the players, he wants an honest answer.

"If Johnson is not 100 per cent, he can't play because you cannot play against Liverpool if you are not 100 per cent."
