Tottenham have traditionally had no qualms giving opportunities to youth prospects.

Tottenham have always been known as a club who are willing to provide a platform for academy graduates, with Harry Kane of course among the most noticeable.

Indeed, last season's Europa League triumph included a 3-0 victory over Elfsborg, which included three scorers who came through the youth ranks, including Mikey Moore, who is now on loan at Rangers..

Luca Williams-Barnett poised to pen Tottenham deal

Luca Williams-Barnett made his Tottenham debut off the bench as Spurs defeated Doncaster Rovers 3-0 in the Carabao Cup this week.

Football London writer Alasdair Gold, in information shared by the Spurs Express on X, has now reported that the 16-year-old has agreed his first professional contract with Tottenham.

The versatile midfielder is set to pen the terms on Wednesday 1 October, his 17th birthday, according to the report.

The 16-year-old shone for Spurs' Under-18's last season, netting 32 goals and assists in just 24 games, also winning goal of the season.

Having made his debut off the bench against Doncaster, Tottenham fans will hope they get to see Williams-Barnett in more first-team action at some point this season.

Spurs can continue to use youth blueprint

Tottenham's academy has been strong over the last few seasons and the U18s have started this season strong, sitting in seventh after five games, a run that saw them defeat London rivals West Ham 5-0.

  • Armend Muslika -16-Years-old - Has started the season scoring 5 goals in 16 games for the U18s
  • Malachi Hardy - 17- Years-old - Signed his first professional deal earlier this year.
  • Luka Vuskovic - 18-Years-old - Signed in the summer and is now on loan at Hamburger SV

Williams-Barnett is an attacking threat, known for his versatility in the front four and his ability to use both feet, something that has left him as one of England's best young prospects.

But it is not just from within where Spurs have been promoting. They have been extremely proactive in trying to scour the market for the best young talents.

As such, the likes of Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, and Luka Vuskovic have all joined over the past 18 months and it is a blueprint that can reap big rewards moving forward.
