Antonín Kinský has struggled to free himself from Guglielmo Vicario's shadow at Tottenham.

Tottenham signed Kinský in January on a six-and-a-half-year deal as a promising player for the future.

The goalkeeper was instantly called into action with Vicario sidelined by injury, but after the Italian's return to action, Kinský hardly featured.

However, things might now be looking up for the 22-year-old after a recent transfer development.

Vicario's agent spotted at Casa Milan amid AC Milan interest

Vicario joined Tottenham from Empoli in 2023 and had a stand-out season, where he played every minute of their 38 Premier League games.

Spurs' number one had a difficult second season, struggling with injuries. However, the 28-year-old made several important saves in the UEFA Europa League final.

As a result, it is no surprise that there is interest in the Italy international.

As reported via Calcio Mercato (11 June), Gabriele Giuffrida, Vicario's agent, recently held a meeting at Casa Milan with AC Milan officials.

Millan are understood to be long-time admirers of Vicario, but will need to pay more than £25million for the shot-stopper's signature this summer.

However, if the Serie A side do fork over the cash, the departure of Vicario could free up a starting position for Kinský, who will undoubtedly be thrilled by this opportunity.

Tottenham could be on the hunt for another goalkeeper

Kinský's celebrations may have to be put on hold as Vicario's potential departure could encourage Spurs to look for another number one.

Indeed, Tottenham could be tempted to strike a deal with Milan for Mike Maignan if Vicario were to make the move in the opposite direction. It has been widely reported that the Frenchman is looking for a new challenge and has been linked with a move to Chelsea.

The transfer of Vicario may enable Spurs to secure Maignan at a cheaper price, which will undoubtedly appeal to Levy.

However, Tottenham may need to rethink the transfer of the Milan keeper. It is clear to see that his shot-stopping has declined these past two years, and despite being brilliant with the ball at his feet, the ends may not justify the means.

Therefore, if Vicario leaves Spurs this summer, the club should consider giving Kinský a fair chance.
